{"id":5581,"date":"2021-11-02T17:00:19","date_gmt":"2021-11-02T16:00:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.landofmemory.eu\/sites-historiques\/bajonett-graben\/"},"modified":"2022-08-02T12:09:44","modified_gmt":"2022-08-02T10:09:44","slug":"bajonett-graben","status":"publish","type":"sites-historiques","link":"https:\/\/www.landofmemory.eu\/de\/sites-historiques\/bajonett-graben\/","title":{"rendered":"Bajonett-Graben"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Der Mythos des Ersten Weltkriegs<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Zum Gedenken an die franz\u00f6sischen Soldaten, die mit dem Gewehr in der Hand in diesem Graben schlafen &#8211; ihre Br\u00fcder Amerikas.&#8220; Dies ist die Inschrift vor dem Denkmal f\u00fcr die Schlacht von Verdun im Geisterdorf Douaumont.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Finanziert wurde das Denkmal von einem wohlhabenden amerikanischen Bankier, George T. Rand, der von der ber\u00fchmten Legende, die den Ort umgibt, bewegt wurde. Franz\u00f6sische Soldaten sollen begraben worden sein, mit der Waffe in der Hand, get\u00f6tet von feindlichen Granaten. Der Bajonettgraben ist einer der Mythen des Ersten Weltkriegs. Vierzehn wurden identifiziert und auf dem Friedhof von Fleury beigesetzt, bevor sie in das Beinhaus von Douaumont \u00fcberf\u00fchrt wurden. Die anderen sieben Leichen, die nicht bekannt sind, wurden in den Bajonettgraben umgebettet.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">F\u00fcr viele h\u00e4lt sich der Mythos hartn\u00e4ckig, f\u00fcr andere wird er in Frage gestellt. Vor allem, weil keine Leiche in aufrechter Position gefunden wurde. Wie dem auch sei, die Legende von den &#8222;Bajonettgr\u00e4ben&#8220; zeigt vor allem, wie sehr der Gro\u00dfe Krieg die kollektive Vorstellungswelt gepr\u00e4gt hat. Als sich der blutige Konflikt der Schlacht von Verdun dem Ende neigte, wurden in den K\u00f6pfen schnell glorreiche Geschichten erdacht, in denen sich die Nation f\u00fcr das Vaterland
