“Schacko Klak”, the title of the film, is an amalgam of the words “Schacko” (helmet) and “slap hat”.<\/p>\n\n
The story begins in 1942 in a small Luxembourg village under Nazi occupation. The war has not yet affected the life of the village too much. Through the eyes of 11-year-old Chr\u00ebscht Knapp, the son of a carpenter, we get to know his family and the people of the village. Most of them are involved in one way or another in the resistance<\/a>, but some collaborate with the occupier.<\/p>\n\nOne day, everything changes in the small village of Chr\u00ebscht. An inhabitant was executed for having participated in the general strike of 9 October 1942<\/a>. The Wehrmacht forcibly recruits young Luxembourgers, while the Gestapo searches houses for those who do not comply.<\/p>\n\n
