They treated wounded, with the means at hand, and in a makeshift hospital, in the middle of the fighting.&#13;\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-center is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Ren\u00e9e Lemaire lost her life with 30 American soldiers in the first-aid post in the Rue de Neufch\u00e2teau, bombed by the Germans on Christmas Eve 1944. Since 2019, there has been a memorial that preserves their memory as well as that of all the nurses who continued their mission at the risk of their
