On 53 hectares lay 14,246 fallen soldiers. Most of them lost their lives during the Meuse-Argonne offensive in the First World War. Personal stories, photos, films, and interactive displays tell the story. Interpretive exhibits also reveal the critical importance of the offensive. They extend from the central basin to the neo-Romanesque chapel that crowns the ridge. In addition, a magnificent bronze panel separates the foyer of the chapel from the interior, whose stained glass windows represent the insignia of American units. Finally, behind the altar, you can admire the flags of the principal Allied nations. <\/p>\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n<p>On each side of the chapel are beautiful memorial loggias, on which are the names of the missing soldiers. <\/p>\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n<p>Since 2016, the visitor center has been renovated and
