{"id":5732,"date":"2021-11-05T10:21:45","date_gmt":"2021-11-05T09:21:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.landofmemory.eu\/sujets-thematiques\/children-of-war\/"},"modified":"2022-08-03T11:42:01","modified_gmt":"2022-08-03T09:42:01","slug":"children-of-war","status":"publish","type":"sujets-thematiques","link":"https:\/\/www.landofmemory.eu\/en\/sujets-thematiques\/children-of-war\/","title":{"rendered":"Children of War"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Emerging recognition<\/h2>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Research is being done on the stories of families intimately affected by wars that generate brutality, sadness, and social crises.&#13;\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These studies analyze the correspondence of the life stories of separated couples, of women enduring violence, absence, and death.&#13;\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Researchers also address the history of &#8220;children of war&#8221; born during or shortly after the conflicts. They find themselves thanks to various sources, oral and written, more and more often digitized: civil status registers, matriculation registers, military files and death records, reports, and interviews of witnesses.&#13;\nBut also thanks to international associations (BOW: an international network of children of war) or appeals launched on social networks.&#13;\n<\/p>\n\n<p>In addition, multidisciplinary scientific studies (archaeological, anthropological, and genetic identification) have been conducted following the discovery of soldiers&#8217; remains. This has made it possible to unravel the mysteries of the unknowns uncovered, whose history can be traced through associated objects (jacket buttons, identity plates, bracelets, and engraved watches) and through molecular analysis (ancient DNA) of bones, teeth, hair&#8230; or even the oral condition.<\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\"
