In dit boek benadert hij de Eerste Wereldoorlog vanuit het gezichtspunt van Luxemburg. We ontdekken de gevolgen van deze oorlog op het dagelijkse leven van het Groothertogdom: de hongersnood, de angst, de verwarring&#8230;<\/p>\n\n<p>De roman begint in augustus 1914. Dit is het moment waarop Duitse soldaten Luxemburg binnentrekken en de bevolking wordt geconfronteerd met een onverwachte en nieuwe situatie. Het land bevindt zich in een moeilijke positie, bezet door Duitse troepen en omringd door oorlogvoerende naties.<\/p>\n\n<p>Het verhaal speelt zich af in het stadje Diekirch, binnen een kleine kring van intellectuelen. Peter Burkel, een advocaat uit een boerenfamilie en het alter ego van de auteur, is de hoofdpersoon. <\/p>\n\n<p>Wegens de kritische houding tegenover Duitsland namen de Duitse militaire autoriteiten in april 1918 het manuscript in beslag en dwongen de auteur het einde van de roman te veranderen. Jean-Pierre Erpelding publiceerde een tweede editie in 1920 onder de titel <em>Luxemburg und der Weltkrieg vormals Anna<\/em>, wat de Luxemburgse vertaling is van &#8220;Luxemburg en de wereldoorlog vormals Anna&#8221;.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","class_list":["post-11357","oeuvres","type-oeuvres","status-publish","hentry","type_oeuvre-livres-guerres-mondiales"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.0 -
