Dit fort bevindt zich in Dalhem, op een twintigtal kilometer ten noordoosten van Luik.&#13;\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In de loop van WO II, speelde dit fort een cruciale rol. Na de val van het fort Eben-Emael, beschermde het de forten van Battice en Barchon. Gedurende elf dagen, slaagde het garnizoen van het fort van Aubin-Neufch\u00e2teau erin de 2000 Duitse soldaten te blokkeren voor de muren. In deze periode ondergingen zij artillerie- en luchtbombardementen, gevolgd door 23 infanterieaanvallen. Verstikking en gebrek aan munitie zorgden ervoor dat het fort op de twaalfde dag ingenomen werd.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-8f761849 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 1942 bood het fort onderdak aan proeven met Duitse geheime wapens. Onder andere de fameuze R\u00f6chlingobus. Et gaat hier over een obus die jammer genoeg bekend is om zijn indrukwekkende omvang (twee meter), in staat om 4,5 meter te doorboren.&#13;\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Vandaag kan je deze plaats en het museum bezoeken en houden zij de herinnering aan de overleden strijders levend. Je verkent er de kronkelende gaanderijen van het fort. Een verzameling dat het museum blijft uitbreiden om de geschiedenis van het gebouw te vervolledigen.
