Hitler beslist om al zijn troepen in te zetten voor een verrassend tegenoffensief, bestemd om de haven van Antwerpen te veroveren dat  niet meer onder controle van de Duitsers was.&#13;\n<\/p>\n\n<p>Diezelfde dag trok een bataljon Amerikaanse artilleriesoldaten richting Baugnez, op hetzelfde ogenblik als de Duitse avant-garde. Er volgde een gewelddadige confrontatie tussen beide kampen en een bloedbad van 84 Amerikaanse gevangenen.&#13;\n<\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Adembenemend realisme<\/h2>\n\n<p>Uit deze tragische geschiedkundige gebeurtenis is het museum ontstaan, enig in zijn genre. Het werd geopend in 2007 en wordt beschouwd als \u00e9\u00e9n van de mooiste musea van het Ardennenoffensief. <\/p>\n\n<p>De verscheidene grote operaties worden er uitgelegd, 16 scenes worden weder samengesteld en 120 kijkkasten voorgesteld. Er worden meerdere stukken, uniek in de wereld, tentoongesteld, waarvan sommige verband houden met deze slachting. Een nooit eerder gezien archieffilm van 25 minuten wordt er geprojecteerd. Twee ruimtes met klank en beeld voeren je mee naar de winter van 1944. Het belooft de bezoekers een ware terugkeer naar vroeger, ondergedompeld in het heetst van de strijd van het Ardennenoffensief, dankzij een bezoek met audiogids in vier talen (Frans, Engels, Nederlands en Duits).
