\u201cThe Family of Man\u201d is een expo met meer dan 500 foto\u2019s van de hand van 273 fotografen uit 68 landen. Al sinds 1955 zet de tentoonstelling bezoekers aan tot nadenken over vrede en de fundamentele gelijkheden tussen mensen. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Deze monumentale fotocollectie werd tussen 1951 en 1955 samengebracht door Edward Steichen, tentoonstellingscurator in het Museum of Modern Art, en zijn medewerkers. Ze werd in 1955 voor het eerst getoond in het MoMA in New York. In de daaropvolgende jaren trok de expo tijdens de rondreis langs de verschillende locaties meer dan 10 miljoen bezoekers. Nu kan ze permanent worden bezocht in het kasteel van Clervaux.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Dit fenomenale project wilde een boodschap van vrede uitdragen in een wereld die geteisterd werd door de spanningen van de Koude Oorlog. Vandaag zijn sommige van deze foto\u2019s uitgegroeid tot iconen in de geschiedenis van de fotografie.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n
