{"id":4948,"date":"2021-10-21T12:06:18","date_gmt":"2021-10-21T10:06:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.landofmemory.eu\/sites-historiques\/vernielde-dorpen\/"},"modified":"2022-08-02T12:13:52","modified_gmt":"2022-08-02T10:13:52","slug":"vernielde-dorpen","status":"publish","type":"sites-historiques","link":"https:\/\/www.landofmemory.eu\/nl\/sites-historiques\/vernielde-dorpen\/","title":{"rendered":"Vernielde dorpen"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Vernielde dorpen<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p>In de Maasstreek, leiden bewegwijzerde paden naar negen spookdorpen die vernietigd werden door de bombardementen tijdens de Salg om Verdun in 1916.<\/p>\n\n<p>Deze dorpen zijn Beaumont-en-Verdunois, Bezonvaux, Cumi\u00e8res-le-Mort-Homme, Douaumont, Fleury-devant-Douaumont, Haumont-pr\u00e8s-Samogneux, Louvemont-C\u00f4te-du-poivre, Ornes en Vaux-devant-Damloup. Allen liggen ze in de &#8220;Rode Zone&#8221; en werden van de kaart geveegd en nooit weer opgebouwd. De rode zone vertegenwoordigt 120 000 ha slagveld in Frankrijk. Tot vandaag, verbiedt de wet enige activiteit in deze zone omwille van lijk- en munitieresten en de grote fysieke schade.<\/p>\n\n<p>De bakens nemen ons mee in de voetsporen van de vernielde huizen en openbare plaatsen, op zoek naar de activiteiten en de vroegere beroepen toen. Deze dode dorpen zijn alzo symbolen waar de kapelletjes en de herdenkingsmonumenten een diepe indruk nalaten. Het is eveneens mogelijk de ondergrondse gaanderijen te bezoeken.<\/p>\n\n<p>Vandaag zijn deze vernietigde dorpen geklasseerd als historisch erfgoed.
