1917 is a movie filmed as a long sequence shot by Sam Mendes in 2017. This film was loosely based on the war stories of his own grandfather, a messenger for the British on the Western Front during the Great War, and during Operation Alberich. 1917 follows events that take place over a day and a half. Two young soldiers have the mission of transmitting the order to cancel an attack by the British on the Germans due to the risk of high casualties. In addition, the brother of one of the young soldiers is on the front line, making this race against time all the more crucial. The film went on to win Oscars and Golden Globes.
